This degree takes five years to complete because the students take two six-month periods off from the academic portion of their education to participate in paid, full-time employment in architecture. This B.S. degree is not sufficient by itself to meet the academic requirement to sit for State licensure. For that, students need to complete Northeastern's one-year NAAB accredited Master of Architecture degree that is open to the B.S. graduates in good standing.

International applicants must have TOEFL passing score of 223 on the computer-based test, 563 on the paper based test, 84 on the Internet -based test, or a passing score of 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). This requirement is waived if students SAT critical reading score /ACT equivalent is at least 550.
