This program prepares students to join the field of human services in a variety of public, nonprofit and private organizations. In addition to the general educational program that forms the common core for all baccalaureate programs, students choosing this major are required to take a common core, which includes an internship experience, and then choose their related studies in a special area of interest.

Students should possess graduation from regionally accredited high school recognized by KSU. They should complete CPC classes which include: 4 English, 4 mathematics (including an advanced math above Algebra II), 3 natural sciences, 2 foreign languages in the same language, 3 social sciences. Full-standing admission requires the following test scores: a 950 combined critical reading and math minimum on the SAT (with minimums of 490 on the critical reading section and 460 on the mathematics section); an alternative KSU will honor a minimum ACT composite of 20, with minimum English score of 20, and mathematics score of 19 for full-freshman standing; academic grade point average minimum of 2.5 as calculated by KSU (on College Preparatory courses) and a minimum iBT score 75 or higher.

KSU place offers 4-bedroom apartments, conveniently equipped with full kitchens and fully furnished. Rental fees include furniture, electricity, water/sewer, Internet and basic cable. Housing is for freshman in designated buildings, upper-class students, and graduate students. This is also a home to scholarship athletes and international students. The phase one private bedroom includes: keyed entry for individual bedrooms, full-size bed, window with mini blinds, 4-drawer dresser, extra storage underneath bed (available in select units), computer desk with book shelves, two-position study chair, large closet, 9-foot ceilings with ceiling fans, wall-to-wall carpeting and Internet access. The luxury kitchen includes: microwave, dishwasher, frost-free refrigerator, stove with range and washers and dryers (buildings D, E, F, and G). The furnished living room includes: sofa, over-sized easy chair, coffee table and end table, entertainment center, wall-to-wall carpeting. The phase two private bedroom includes: keyed entry for individual bedrooms, twin-size bed, window with mini blinds, 4-drawer dresser, computer desk and chair, closets in select rooms, others have shelving on the wall, 8-foot ceilings, wall-to-wall carpeting and Internet access. The luxury kitchen includes: microwave, dishwasher, frost-free refrigerator and stove with range. The furnished living room includes: sofa, over-sized easy chair, coffee table and end table, entertainment center, wall-to-wall carpeting and high-speed Internet: always connected 24/7, no dialing up, data jacks are located at the desk in every bedroom, high speed Internet connection and wireless service available (Phase II apartments). The community features include: Laundry center, Fitness center, Computer labs - computers, high-speed Internet connections. The rate of 4 bed / 2 bath in phase one is $460/month, 4 bed / 2 bath w/ W/D in phase one is $485/month and 4 bed / 2 bath in phase two is $395/month.
