The health promotion and lifestyle management program can give the students what they need to inspire others to make lifestyle changes that will lead to improved health. People considering a career in health promotion must become proficient at a wide variety of skills that will lead to success. The health promotion professional must be grounded in the theories and practices of behavior change, have good communication skills, be able to plan, organize, deliver, and evaluate programs for individuals, social groups, organizations and governments, be familiar with the latest health promotion trends and research findings, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and they must be interested in helping people.

Applicants should have completed High school, General Education Development (GED) Test or have an equivalent qualification. Applicants must also submit scores on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or the American College Testing Program (ACT). International applicants whose native language is not English must supply results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language TOEFL) or its equivalent.
