Lehigh’s picturesque 1600-acre wooded campus is actually built into the side of what is affectionately known as "Old South Mountain" in historic Bethlehem, PA. A little more than an hour’s car ride from Philadelphia or New York City, Lehigh is located within the thriving economic and cultural corridor of the eastern United States. Founded in 1865, Lehigh is a coeducational, non-denominational and private university. The students are engaged and work in a highly collaborative culture, where they are given the opportunity to work closely with faculty and fellow students. It is among the most selective, highly ranked private research universities in the U.S. It offers more than 90 undergraduate programs and majors featuring more than 2,000 courses, many of which easily transfer among Lehigh's 4 colleges. All residence halls are close to the classrooms, the dining halls, the fitness center/gymnasium and the libraries. All of Lehigh's first-year residential options provide a safe, well-maintained homelike space to live, study, and learn from other residents. A variety of lifestyle options are available for upper class. The university offers three fantastic complexes: Campus Square, Sayre Park Village, and Trembley Park. The Warren Square complex offers theme housing opportunities for a unique living experience. Each residence hall has special features. The residence halls are staffed and run by talented and supportive people who can help students with any problem they might face at any time of the day or night.
