This program puts the emphasis on making students competent outdoor educators and leaders. Through class discussions and field experience, students will design, implement, and administer outdoor education programs that are safe, challenging, and enjoyable. Supported by a liberal arts foundation and an extensive knowledge of the environment, students will be able to deepen the wilderness experience for groups and understand the current issues facing their field.

International applicants must be a graduate of a secondary school system or the equivalent and must have sufficient proficiency in the English language so they are able to study at the college level. A minimum Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 500 (pbt), 173 (cbt), or 61 (ibt) or an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) overall band score of 6 is required. International applicants may also elect to submit an official Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) score or American College Testing (ACT) score.
