This program looks specifically at the material culture of past civilizations and how ancient peoples used material culture to adapt to their natural and social environments. Together, these fields provide the student with a broad, and compelling, perspective on who we are and how we shaped our contemporary world.

International students are not required to take the SAT or the ACT for standard admission. However, these tests may be required for direct admission and scholarship consideration. Undergraduate students must achieve a minimum TOEFL score of 173 (61 Internet-based test), a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or a minimum MELAB score of 69. TOEFL, IELTS and MELAB scores are valid for two (2) years from test date. The University of Akron accepts only valid test scores.
