This program is for students interested in graduate studies in biochemistry and bioinformatics as well as pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. In order to enroll in this option, students must earn an average grade of B- or above in CHEM 104, 222, BIOL 100, and MATH 150. In addition, no more than one C grade is allowed in these four courses to declare Option 3. This option consists of a minimum of 21-credits above the introductory level and a 9-credit general chemistry core for a total of minimum 30 credits of chemistry. Three semesters of biology, one year of physics, one year of computer science, one year of calculus, and one semester of statistics are also required.

Students will be considered on the basis of overall strength of academic preparation; grades in individual subjects; overall high school average; and SAT or ACT scores. Applicants who have taken the General Equivalency Diploma (GED) examination must submit test scores and can be eligible provided they have taken the required academic units in high school. The college recommends four years of English, four years of social studies, three years of mathematics, two years of a foreign language, two years of laboratory sciences, and one year of performing or visual arts as the academic preparation needed for success in college. International applicants whose primary language is not English must demonstrate a firm command of the English language by scoring a minimum of 500 on the TOEFL.
