This program focused on ensuring a high level of individual attention to the mentoring and socialization of teacher candidates. Work in early elementary education must be guided by two principles: first, a commitment to continuous improvement based on reflection, evaluation, and on-going research; second, a commitment to peer collaboration as a source of professional growth for teacher candidates as well as school and university faculty.

University of Kentucky which was founded in 1865 has nearly 150 years of commitment to academic excellence, scholarly exploration and research, community outreach and engagement and a mission of becoming one of America's Top 20 public research institutions. Several new facilities are expected to come on-line in the near future to create the space needed for their teaching, research and service programs. These buildings include a biological pharmaceutical complex building, a new patient care facility, and a student health facility. They also have renovating a number of older facilities, including: the Chemistry-Physics Building, the Thomas Hunt Morgan Biological Science Building, the M.I. King Library, and the Boone Faculty Center.

Graduate housing is provided in six locations namely; Cooperstown, Commonwealth Village, 468 Rose Lane, Shawneetown, Greg Page Stadium View, and 404 Linden Walk. These are conveniently located on campus, or adjacent to campus. Students are offered with different apartment layout options to fit their needs: Efficiency apartment costs $ 485, One-Bedroom apartment’s costs $600 and Two-Bedroom apartment’s costs $685. All housing is fully furnished, with appliances being provided at all campus. FREE high speed Internet and 60 basic deluxe cable channels in each apartment. Three community rooms are available for parties and meetings at no cost to the resident. Laundry facilities are available in most communities. Housing rental rate includes electricity, water, air-conditioning, and heat. Flexible rent payment options are available: pay on-line, in the office, in a drop box, or US mail AND they can defer rent payment until students receive their financial aid. FREE Emergency maintenance service is available 24-7 with routine maintenance service during regular business hours. University also offers Undergraduate housing at North Neighborhood; Blazer Hall, Holmes Hall, Keeneland Hall, Patterson Hall, North Hall. Central Neighborhood; Donovan Hall, Haggin Hall. South Neighborhood (Kirwan-Blanding Complex); Kirwan I, Kirwan II, Kirwan III, Kirwan IV, Kirwan Tower, Blanding I, Blanding II, Blanding III, Blanding IV, Blanding Tower, Smith Hall, Baldwin Hall, Ingels Hall.
