The goal of the finance program is to provide a professionally oriented program to prepare students for successful careers in institutional finance which includes careers in banking, brokerage, insurance, and other financial fields. Individuals entering a career with a financial institution have many opportunities open to them. Finance careers include positions with financial institutions, financial service companies, and corporations.

The following are the modules: Finance Courses in the Professional Program-Finance (36 credits): Finance students must complete 16 credits in required courses; 12 credits of elective finance courses; one 4-credit required finance-specific course; and 4 credits of elective finance-specific courses. Required courses include (16): BA 340. Finance (4); BA 341. Investments (4); BA 342. Advanced Financial Management (4); BA 445. International Financial Management (4); Finance Electives-Select three of the following courses (12): BA 435. Financial Statement Analysis (4); BA 441. Financial Institutions (4); BA 443. Portfolio Management (4); BA 444. Financial Risk Management (4); Finance-Specific (4): ACTG 378. Accounting Information Management (4); Finance-Specific Electives-Select one of the following courses (4): ACTG 317. External Reporting I (4); ECON 330. Money and Banking (4); ECON 340. International Economics (4) (2).

Applicants must have an excellent academic record (a minimum 3. 0 on a 4.0 scale or "B" grade average or equivalent) from an accredited or recognized institution to be admitted to Oregon State University. International students must have the following GPA scores: Paper score of 550; Internet score of 80 (Minimum score of 16 on each section) and IELTS score of 6.5.
