This program is designed to provide students with a quality liberal arts education that builds on the content of the core curriculum. The focus of the criminal justice program is upon such principles as democracy, rule of law, constitutionalism, civil liberties, equal rights, and the safeguarding of citizens against intimidation and oppression. It is designed to prepare students for graduate education or for entrance into a career in the criminal justice system at the federal, state, or local level.

Students should have high school graduates that have earned less than 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) of transferable college credit coursework (not including joint enrollment and advanced placement credits). They should have strong SAT or ACT score results and provide a well developed personal essay. The middle 50% of admitted students had SAT total scores ranging from 1070 to 1210 (CR + M sub scores only), and high school grade point averages ranging from 3.13 to 3.71 (calculated on academic courses only).
