This program is designed for those students who are interested in developing their skills in the French language and in gaining a broader perspective on and a deeper understanding of French-speaking countries in Europe, Africa, North America, the Caribbean and Asia. The new track prepares students to function in a multicultural, global context, and enhances students’ career choices and employment potential.

The modules include 3520:301 French Conversation, 3520:302 French Composition, 3520:403 Advanced French: Written and oral Communication, 3520:305 French Literature, 3520:306 French Literature, 3520:303 French Culture and Civilization I, 3520:304 French Culture and Civilization II, 3520:422 Special Topic-Culture.

International students are not required to take the SAT or the ACT for standard admission. However, these tests may be required for direct admission and scholarship consideration. Undergraduate students must achieve a minimum TOEFL score of 173 (61 Internet-based test), a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or a minimum MELAB score of 69. TOEFL, IELTS and MELAB scores are valid for two (2) years from test date. The University of Akron accepts only valid test scores.
