The mission of the EMU History Section is to increase historical knowledge and understanding and to prepare the students for lives of learning, citizenship, and professional success. Philosophy is unique among academic disciplines in the scope of its subject matter and in the truly fundamental importance of the skills it teaches. Philosophy has always had as part of its subject matter the deepest questions they ask as human beings. In addition to pursuing these traditional questions, philosophers seek to clarify and evaluate the deep assumptions underlying other, more specialized fields of study, including psychology, history, and political science, as well as the natural sciences.

Eastern Michigan University offers traditional residence halls as well as apartment living options for students. Three apartment complexes are available to serve their housing needs. These include Brown/Munson, Cornell Courts and West view apartments. University Apartments include locations convenient to classes, the library and athletic events, utilities included in rent (gas, electric, water and trash collection), basic cable service, laundry rooms in each building, AC’s can be installed, storage facilities at some locations, community rooms for complex activities. Eastern Michigan offers on-campus living options for graduate students in residence halls and University Apartments. Graduate students selecting on-campus living have the choice of living in a single room in either Hill or Hoyt, which are close to food options, the Student Center and the University Library. This university offers residence halls are buell hall, downing hall, and wise hall.
