This program embraces Lawrence Tech’s philosophy of theory and practice by combining the study of literature with creative writing and experience in technical and professional communication. It prepares students for professional careers in written, oral, and computer-based communication. The degree also provides excellent preparation for law school and graduate programs in the humanities. Students learn from outstanding faculty, experts, and practitioners in their field; participate in small classes that enhance team-building and problem-solving skills; • develop their creativity through projects using state-of-the-art technology; and gain experience as interns in business, industry, and publishing-related fields. Graduates with a degree in English and the communication arts are among the most versatile in the job market today. Proficiency in writing and the knowledge of literature and the other humanities combined with experience in a variety of communication media can prepare them for a broad spectrum of career opportunities. The career options include advertising, education, journalism, law, management, market research, public relations and writing/editing (film, marketing, technical, television, radio, and web).

अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय विद्यार्थीहरू प्रवेशको लागि आवश्यकता

Students must have completed high school diploma or GED equivalent. The high school course work includes algebra one and two; one semester of trigonometry, pre-calculus or senior math; two semesters of chemistry and physics. They should have a recomputed overall GPA of 2.50 or better in academic subjects, which include language and literature, social sciences, mathematics, and natural sciences. They must possess American College Test (ACT) or Standard Achievement Test (SAT) scores. International students must have obtained a minimum TOEFL score of 550 on the paper-based test, or 79 on the internet-based test or a score of 6.0 on IELTS (International English Language Testing System). If a student does not want to take the TOEFL or did not pass the TOEFL, they have an option to complete ESL courses at LTU.
