This program provides an interdisciplinary major for students interested in social, historical, and artistic aspects of the human place in the regional and global environment. Environmental Studies majors develop basic competencies in the social, natural, and physical sciences and a personal menu of courses to meet the academic and career goals. A flexible major, it combines a core curriculum of lower and upper division coursework and a menu of course concentrations, including environmental nonprofit leadership, science and environment, culture and environment, and communication and environment. Advising may be coordinated with other departments as warranted by a student's particular interests.
