This program is for the students who wish to teach Earth Sciences/Physics in Ohio public high schools can pursue the B.A. degree in physics. Upon completion of this undergraduate degree program in the College of Science and Mathematics, students then need to complete the Professional Educators Program (PEP) through Wright State's College of Education and Human Services. Graduates of the B.A. in earth sciences/physics and the Professional Educators Program are then eligible to seek licensure from the Ohio Department of Education in Earth Sciences/Physics.

Students must have earned a certificate of completion of secondary education that would enable the student to be admitted to a university in his or her home country, have studied mathematics and science subjects at the secondary level, a minimum score of 173(CBT) or 61/120 (IBT) in TOEFL (College of Engineering and Computer Science requires 197(CBT) or 71/120(IBT)), a minimum score of band 5 in IELTS, 1140 or higher in SAT or 25 or higher in ACT for coming directly out of secondary school with GPA is 3.25 or higher and must ranked among the top 10% of their graduating class.

This department strive to provide a friendly yet challenging learning and research environment so that its students are prepared to either take on employment or further their studies. Its faculties not only teach but carry out pioneering research in a wide variety of areas such as atmospheric science, biophysics, geophysics, materials science, and nano-technology. There are 15 full-time and four research faculty. This includes: an American Geophysical Union fellow, an NSF Career recipient, an Ohio Board of Regents Teaching fellow, and five female faculty.

This university provides campus housing to students through residential halls and apartments. All students are eligible to be accommodated in Hamilton Hall; it has double and triple occupancy rooms. Students who are in the University Honors Program are eligible to be accommodated in Honors Community, it has double occupancy rooms. The College Park apartment is for 3 quarters of WSU housing, transfer or continuing sophomore, or be at least 21 years of age. It has 4 bedrooms, two bath apartments.
