This program is designed to assist students to secure a broad liberal education and to equip them with the foundations for American citizenship, provide undergraduate preparation for those students who propose to continue study at the graduate level with the ultimate goal of college teaching and research, offer a broad program of training for those students who plan careers in government or politics, assist in preparing students for careers in teaching at both the elementary and secondary levels and provide a sound background for those students who intend to enroll in law and other professional schools. Students applying for this program must have all the requested official English language proficiency score report. Students should have 61 iBT (173CBT/500PBT) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or 5.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or 69 on the Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) or 440 on the SAT Writing Section or 18 on the Combined English/Writing section of the ACT. Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale for freshman applicants or a minimum grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale for transfer applicants. The admissions office will determine grade point average if one is not available on a student's academic record. Students must have a statement of financial support that verifies that $ 25,563 will be available to the university to cover estimated costs for the academic year.
