This is an interdisciplinary program, provides students with an appreciation of the urban environment as a complex system and teaches them to approach urban processes from an interdisciplinary perspective. It is designed to prepare some students for junior- or entry-level positions in both local government and selected community agencies, but it also provides a foundation for students preparing for graduate work. Majors are required to complete a common core of courses and then select a specialization. The Criminal Justice area is suggested for students who wish to develop careers in court or police administration, or criminal justice planning. Employment may be with various judicial, planning, or police agencies. The program includes courses in management, psychology, political science, and sociology. It meets the needs of students preparing for careers in crime prevention and law enforcement. Knowledge of law, the urban environment, psychology and social relations provide a foundation for work in the criminal justice system. Employment may be found in various judicial, administrative and police agencies at all levels of government and in private companies. In addition to required courses, students select elective courses that fit their unique career objectives. Prior to enrollment, students must discuss with their advisor which elective courses best fit their need.

Students must have earned a certificate of completion of secondary education that would enable the student to be admitted to a university in his or her home country, have studied mathematics and science subjects at the secondary level, a minimum score of 173(CBT) or 61/120 (IBT) in TOEFL (College of Engineering and Computer Science requires 197(CBT) or 71/120(IBT)), a minimum score of band 5 in IELTS, 1140 or higher in SAT or 25 or higher in ACT for coming directly out of secondary school with GPA is 3.25 or higher and must ranked among the top 10% of their graduating class.

This university is first public institution of higher learning was first laid in 1961, when Dayton was the second-largest metropolitan area in Ohio that had no public higher education facility, it is about 557 acre and its Lake campus is about 173 acres. The main campus in Fairborn is located 11.6 miles and 15 minutes east of downtown Dayton and the Lake Campus is located on the shore of Grand Lake St. Marys, between Celina and St. Marys, Ohio. The university will be a catalyst for educational excellence in the Miami Valley, meeting the need for an educated citizenry dedicated to lifelong learning and service.
