This program is based on a broad foundation in the fine arts and visual communication with the application of a variety of media and techniques to achieve creative solutions to design problems. It has two concentrations, digital arts and digital design. The primary goal of these concentrations is to creatively apply the design process in the development of hand drawing, graphic identities, Internet designs, photography, motion graphics, and other emerging technologies to meet the needs of corporate and private enterprises. It explores the use of graphics, images, and objects in time-based media, generally involving motion, such as film, video graphic title design, web design, animation, game development, and architectural conceptualization. It offers students a rich liberal arts core curriculum encouraging intellectual inquiry as the foundation of a lifelong awareness that informs artistic expression. Studies in literature, the sciences, philosophy, math, and history all contribute to the vision of the imaging professional. Elective courses are available within the College of Architecture and Design so students have an opportunity to explore other creative disciplines. Elective courses are also available within the University in programs such as business, computer science, or engineering. Theory and practice, Lawrence Tech's underlying philosophy, are the essentials to an effective and marketable designer. All graduates are required to complete a 150-hour internship program where they apply their theoretical knowledge to real life situations and receive mentoring from practicing professionals. Graduates with a degree in Imaging have many career options such as interactive media, art direction/advertising design, video and film, web design and development, animation, user experience, architectural rendering, interface design, 3D modeling, environmental graphics (signage and way-finding), exhibition design and game design.

अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय विद्यार्थीहरू प्रवेशको लागि आवश्यकता

Students must have completed high school diploma or GED equivalent. The high school course work includes algebra one and two; one semester of trigonometry, pre-calculus or senior math; two semesters of chemistry and physics. They should have a recomputed overall GPA of 2.50 or better in academic subjects, which include language and literature, social sciences, mathematics, and natural sciences. They must possess American College Test (ACT) or Standard Achievement Test (SAT) scores. International students must have obtained a minimum TOEFL score of 550 on the paper-based test, or 79 on the internet-based test or a score of 6.0 on IELTS (International English Language Testing System). If a student does not want to take the TOEFL or did not pass the TOEFL, they have an option to complete ESL courses at LTU.
