In this program student receive individualized studio training covering voice, movement, period styles, stage combat, script analysis, role preparation, and scene study. Training is also available in film acting, as are opportunities to work on feature-length films. A production season of six to eight full-length shows, numerous showcases, and musical theatre productions insure student, whether a freshman or a senior, have ample opportunities to perform.

The modules for Acting, Movement, and Voice include 110, 111 Freshman Performance Studies; 168 Fundamentals of Voice and Diction; 169 Voice and Movement; 210, 211 Sophomore Performance Studies; 310, 311 Junior Performance Studies; 330, 331 Stage Combat I, II; 410, 411 Senior Performance Studies. The modules for Theory, History, and Literature include 320 Theory and Practice of Drama; 321 Theatre History I; 322 Theatre History II; 326 Dramatic Literature I; 327 Dramatic Literature II. The other theatre requirements include 220 Business and Employment Practices in the Professional Theatre; 240 Makeup; 271 Introduction to Stagecraft; 272 Introduction to Costumes for the Stage; 338 Technology Lab I; 339 Technology Lab II; 481 Directing; 499 Senior Review; DANC (4 hours).

Applicants who have completed 12 years of primary and secondary school and received a high school diploma or the equivalent may be admitted if at least one of the following criteria is met: high/secondary school diploma with a minimum 3.20 Grade Point Average (no SAT or ACT entrance exam required unless applying for Academic Excellence Scholarship); high/secondary school diploma with a minimum 2.50 Grade Point Average and a score of 760 or above on the SAT Entrance Exam or 16 and above on the ACT Entrance Exam; high/secondary school diploma with a class rank in the top 50% and a score of 760 on the SAT Entrance Exam or 16 and above on the ACT Entrance Exam; high/secondary school diploma with a minimum 2.00 Grade Point Average and a score of 860 or above on the SAT Entrance Exam or 18 and above on the ACT Entrance Exam. Applicants whose native language is not English should have a minimum TOEFL score of 79-80 in internet based or 213 in computer based or 550 in paper based (or) IELTS score of 6.
