This Program gives students the opportunity to create individualized academic programs that fit their abilities, interests, and career goals. Courses in the Interdisciplinary Humanities major can come from a variety of disciplines, including American Studies, Art, Art History, Communications, English, Foreign Languages, History, Interdisciplinary Humanities, Philosophy, and Theatre. Through study of these fields, students gain crucial knowledge about world history and culture and hone their analytic and writing skills while courses in intercultural communications, graphic design, desktop publishing, or writing for the web teach students how to apply their knowledge effectively. The Business Administration minor complements the broad strengths of the Interdisciplinary Humanities major by giving students instruction in economics, finance, marketing, and/or management. It prepares students for diverse opportunities in today’s world. Career paths may include teaching, corporate communications, media, advertising, marketing and sales, social service agencies, law, government, business, and nonprofit agencies. The following list has been developed to provide examples of the opportunities available in today's career market for graduates of the program. Its students have found that the combination of study in the humanities, with its emphasis on communication and creativity, with business skills is very appealing to employers.

Students must have academic records with transcripts, a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 on the academic test or minimum TOEFL score of 80 on the Internet-based TOEFL, 213 on the computer-based exam, or 550 on the paper exam, 530 or higher on the critical reading or writing section in SAT, IB score of 5 or higher on the English language exam. Entrance to this major requires the completion of 28 or more credits and a 2.00 or higher cumulative grade-point average, they should request a change-of-assignment to Penn State Harrisburg during their fourth semester to be effective for the next semester of enrollment.
