This program allows students to focus their studies on an area that is gaining more and more attention from an increasingly security-conscious business community. The program can help prepare students interested in developing and advancing a career opportunity as an internet security administrator, network security engineer, application security architect, C and A security consultant, and risk assessment specialist. The program features industry-relevant coursework taught by faculty members with real-world experience in the field. Students are able to learn about the types of information technology security used in business today as well as the practices that should be in place in any organization to ensure security. The program also addresses issues of physical and operations security. Students who successfully complete the program will be able to use operating systems and networking knowledge; apply the principles of programming to develop applications and websites; program for database connectivity; define data modeling, data definition language, and data manipulation language; define concepts of computer systems, hardware, programming languages, and databases; research career opportunities in information technology; identify issues and practices in information technology management; describe information technology security issues, tools, and practices implemented in today's businesses; analyze internet security issues within the business environment, including the impact of ethics, behavior, and human resources policies and procedures on the security of organizational computer systems; and examine, define, and develop policies to maintain security and manage Internet security risks in a business environment.

Students must have high school completion or its equivalent. Accepted methods for the demonstration of English proficiency include but are not limited to the following: TOEFL score of 500 or higher on the paper based test, 173 or higher on the computer based test and 61 or higher on the internet based test; Advanced Placement International English Language (APIEL) score of 3 or higher; International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 5.5 or higher; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) score of 73 or higher; University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate Certificate of Advanced English (UCLES CAE) grade of A, B or C; University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate Certificate of Proficiency in English (UCLES CPE) grade of A, B or C; and British GCSE/Ordinary (O) or Advanced (A and AS) Level examinations in the Subject of English grade of A, B or C.
