This program is designed specifically to educate and provide certification for those intending to teach music in elementary or secondary schools. Students in this track are able to gain classroom experience through extensive, field-based teaching opportunities that begin as early as the sophomore year. Paths chosen by its graduates in music include teaching in elementary or secondary school or in a studio or conservatory setting; performing as a soloist, chamber or orchestral musician; continuing with graduate-level study; composing or arranging musical works; teaching in college or university; and pursuing careers in music librarianship, music publishing or business-related areas of the music industry.

Students must have transcripts of all secondary and post-secondary work, a minimum score of 80 (TOEFL ibt), 550 (paper), or 213 (computer) in TOEFL (for international students from non-English speaking country) or 6.5 or better in IELTS, applicants to the Nursing major must have a minimum TOEFL score of 100 (TOEFL ibt), 600 (paper), or 250 (computer).
