This program provides a broad-based education that balances conceptual and pragmatic knowledge. Accounting is a dynamic profession that is essential to organizations around the globe. Corporate governance, organizational strategy and long-term planning all require the technical and analytic skills of accountants. In virtually every organization- private, public, nonprofit, governmental - accounting professionals hold critical roles at all levels. A degree in this field also prepares students to pursue advanced degrees in business, law and other fields. Licensed counselors provide students strategies for mastering job interviews, writing professional cover letters and resumes and connecting with campus recruiters, among other services. School of Management students are encouraged to hold internships. The school’s fully staffed Career Management Center, working in tandem with the University’s Career Center, helps students prepare for and seek internships, as well as post-graduation employment. A 120-hour curriculum leads to a degree in accounting. All undergraduate degrees require a core of 27 hours. In the core courses, students have an opportunity to learn theories and analytical techniques that can be applied to the functional areas of business, such as finance and marketing. Students are exposed to the international dimensions of business activities and to social and political factors that impact business behavior. Students who plan to become Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) should consider the 150-hour Professional Program in Accounting, which earns them both an undergraduate and a master’s degree.

Applicants must have completed a full, college-track high school curriculum, including language arts (4 units), mathematics (3.5 units), science (3 units of laboratory science, excluding physical science), social sciences (3 units), foreign language (2 units in a single foreign language), and fine arts (.5 unit in music, art, or drama).. International Students must have minimum TOEFL score of 550 on paper based, 213 on computer based or 80 on the internet based test, 6.5 on IELTS or 67 on PTE academic.
