This program offers a strong foundation in general business disciplines, including management, marketing, human resources, organizational communications, and finance. The course work includes retail management, store operations, merchandising, pricing, competitive analysis and planning and legal and ethical considerations in managing a retail operation. People who choose this specialization are often pursuing lead, supervisory, or management positions at the retail store level, or specialist/analyst positions within a retail department or corporate headquarters.

Core modules include: Developing a Business Perspective BUS3004, Fundamentals of Management and Leadership BUS3010, Fundamentals of E-Business BUS3020, Fundamentals of Marketing and Sales BUS3030, Fundamentals of Human Resource Management BUS3040, Fundamentals of Organizational Communication BUS3050 and Fundamentals of Finance and Accounting BUS3060. Specialization modules include: Fundamentals of Retail Management BUS4080, Brand Building and Channel Development BUS4081, Marketing, Merchandising, and Advertising BUS4082, Retailing Analytical Tools and Techniques BUS4083, Pricing Management BUS4084, Management and Operational Issues in Retail BUS4085 and Ethics and Enterprise BUS4801, Change Management BUS4802. Elective module is choosing 39 quarter credits of additional undergraduate courses. Capstone module to be taken in the final quarter is Business Capstone Project 6 quarter credits BUS4993. To complete the Degree, students need 45 quarter credits in general education subject areas with a minimum of 6 quarter credits from each category. Residents of Arkansas must complete Arkansas general education requirements.

Students must have completed high school diploma or equivalent. They must be at least 24 years old. International students whose language of instruction is not English are required to take one of the following tests: the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum acceptable score of 550 on paper-based test, 213 on computer-based test with a score of 4.0 or higher on the Test of Written English (TWE), or 79 on internet based examination; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) score of 80; International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a score of 6.5; or Pearson Test of English (PTE) score of 59.
