In this program, students will study decision making at the corporate level, and examine product development throughout the entire manufacturing process, including the principles of global sourcing. It prepares students to move directly from classroom to career. Students will gain valuable real-world experience through: expert faculty with years of professional experience; internships at top-level companies and class tours of factories and professional mentors and guest lectures by industry leaders. In this program, students will: work on state-of-the-art equipment in facilities modeled on those in industry; gain an indispensable background in manufacturing as well as experience can use to enter the job market or pursue an advanced degree and master the product development process. Students put the skills and knowledge to acquire in the classroom to immediate use with companies such as importer/exporters, software suppliers, and manufacturers of sewn products, home furnishings, and toys. Graduates build careers worldwide as: production coordinators, product engineers, logistics and distribution managers, salespersons, directors of manufacturing, general operations managers, consultants and independent business operators. Graduates have been placed at Gap, Coach, Brooks Brothers, Lafayette 148, Ann Cole, Ralph Lauren, Ann Taylor, Victoria’s Secret, Abercrombie and Fitch, Guess, Jones New York, Carolina Herrera, VF Corporation, American Eagle and Macy’s and Federated Department Stores.

Students must have completed an AAS degree from FIT or an equivalent degree or 60 appropriate credits from a regionally accredited four-year bachelor’s degree program. Those who have completed less than four years of English (not ESL) at a U.S. high school are required to take the TOEFL or IELTS. International students must have obtained a minimum TOEFL score of 80 on internet-based (ibt) test, 213 on computer-based test, 550 on paper-based test; IELTS band score of 6.5 in the academic module is required. Applicants who have completed an English composition course at a college in the U.S. are not exempt from taking the TOEFL or IELTS scores.
