This program is designed to develop highly qualified, caring, professional nurses who wish to enhance their professional skills while maintaining their personal and professional responsibilities. Accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), this program is designed to provide the registered nurse with a broad BSN professional preparation. The program is based on nursing science, and is grounded in biological, physical, and behavioral sciences as well as the humanities. It is designed to prepare students for practice with individuals, families and communities in many different settings, including hospitals and health agencies.

Students whose first language is not English and who are admitted to Michigan State University with regular admission must meet one of the following language proficiency requirements. They should have obtained a minimum TOEFL score of 79 on internet based test (with no sub score below 17) and 550 on paper based test (with no sub score below 52). An IELTS score of 6.5 or higher is required. They should have secured an SAT critical reading score of 480 or higher and an ACT exam sub score of 18 or higher on the English section. Average score of at least 80 with no subs core below 80 is required for Michigan State University English Language Test (MSUELT) and an average score of 80 or higher is required for Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB).
