Finance and Operations Management is one of three departments within the Collins College of Business. The Department's goal is to perfect students' technical skills specific to the discipline as well as honing their management propensities. The finance program is designed to educate students in all areas of business--accounting, economics, international business, management, marketing, and management information systems--because the finance profession involves interaction with all of these areas. Courses are offered in the areas of corporate finance, investments, portfolio management, financial institutions, and personal finance. A Student Investment Fund of more than $1,600,000 provides students with the opportunity to manage a portfolio of real money.

The University offers a variety of housing and dining options. Residence hall housing and University apartments are available with or without meal plans. Other non-university-sponsored apartments are available nearby TU at varying rates. The University of Tulsa is interested in how resident students can enrich their experiences in an already vibrant campus environment, which is why it has established housing requirements as well as offer a variety of lifestyles to meet the needs of all students. Computer access, the convenience of in-room telephones, study lounges, and recreational outlets are just a few of these. In addition, full-time live-in professional Residence Directors (RD), student Resident Assistants (RA) and Apartment Community Assistants (ACA) work with students to encourage an atmosphere conducive to academic and personal growth. Staff members advise and acquaint students with the resources of the University as well as plan educational and social programs to meet the needs and interests of residents. All first year students are required to live in University Residence Halls and second year students required to live on campus and participate in a dining program unless they are formally exempted to reside with parent(s) or legal guardian(s) within a 20 mile radius of the campus. This policy applies to traditional first and second year students, international students and transfer students who have not completed two years of residency at another university (post high school) Married students and students 21 years of age and older are exempt. Students fulfill the requirement after spending two years living and dining on campus (post high school). Academic credit hours and/or class status do not exempt one from the policy.
