This program provides skills necessary to keep abreast of the dynamic global economy change at an ever-quickening pace. Professionals must be competent in not only the technical arena but also understand the “soft skills” needed to effectively manage projects and people. Those who complete a bachelor’s degree in business administration will have a global perspective along with the analytical and technical skills needed to compete in today’s challenging marketplace. These students also are positioned to enter graduate programs in business, law and medicine. Licensed counselors are available to provide strategies for mastering job interviews, writing professional cover letters and resumes and connecting with campus recruiters, among other services. School of Management students are encouraged to hold internships. The school’s fully-staffed Career Management Center, working in tandem with the University’s Career Center, helps students prepare for and seek internships, as well as post-graduation employment. A 120-hour curriculum leads to a degree in business administration. All undergraduate degrees require a central core of 27 hours. In the core courses, students have an opportunity to learn theories and analytical techniques to apply to the functional areas of business, such as finance and marketing. Students are exposed to the global influences on business activities and to social and political factors that impact business behavior. A concentration in Organizational Behavior is an excellent choice for students who are interested in the behavior of and interactions between individuals in organizations. Organizational behavior prepares students for many career paths because it gives students the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in a diverse and rapidly changing workplace. Students are exposed to a variety of subjects including ethics, conflict management, leadership, motivation, and decision-making. A concentration in organizational behavior is a great choice for students interested in jobs such as human resources, training and development, organizational change, consulting, and organizational development.
