The Haas School of Business Undergraduate Program provides students with the knowledge and technical skills necessary to understand the modern business world, to prepare for subsequent graduate work, and to achieve the highest levels of success in their professional careers. Students earn a Bachelor of Science degree that takes a general management perspective. Course work is fully integrated with the university's liberal arts curriculum, allowing students to gain a broad perspective on business management and its environment. Students are challenged to develop creative and innovative solutions to contemporary business problems and to develop leadership skills and a sense of community service through curricular and extracurricular activities.

The courses are: UGBA 100: Business Communication, GBA 107: The Social, Political and Ethical Environment of Business, UGBA 101A: Microeconomics Analysis for Business Decisions, Econ 1, Math1A or 16A, Stat 21 or equivalent, UGBA 102A: Introduction to Financial Accounting, UGBA 106: Marketing, UGBA 101B: Macroeconomics Analysis for Business Decisions, Econ 1, Math1A or 16A, Stat 21 or equivalent, UGBA 102B: Introduction to Managerial Accounting.

Students should have completed all prerequisite courses with a letter grade of C- or higher no more than 5 years before starting the business major. Literature/Writing requirement is in addition to the English/R and C requirement and must be satisfied by the completion of one course in which literature or writing is studied, not including R and C courses. They must also satisfy the English/Reading and Composition Requirement completing courses comparable to both Berkeley's English R1A and English R1B. Foreign Language requirement must be satisfied in high school by receiving a grade of C- or higher in courses comparable to the third year level of any language other than the language of high school instruction or in college by passing a course comparable to the second semester of a foreign language as taught at Berkeley or by passing one of the following exams, in a language other than English, with the grade or score indicated: 590 on the SAT II or 3, 4 or 5 on an AP Exam. This exam may also be used to satisfy a breadth requirement or A, B, or C on a GCE "O" or "A" Level, HKCEE or HKALE; or 5, 6, or 7 on an IB Higher Level Exam or passing score on a foreign language proficiency exam offered by some departments at Berkeley or at other UC campuses.
