This program is for students to enjoy science and math, and the opportunity to serve society by creating, maintaining, and renewing the infrastructure on which they all rely. Civil engineers know how to evaluate risk and ensure the high reliability of their designs. This program have the opportunity to specialize in one or more areas such as civil infrastructure, transportation engineering, environmental fluid mechanics/hydrology/water resources, or plan a more general civil engineering curriculum.

Students must meet the following preparatory courses: 16 units, including one of chemistry, one of physics, and four of mathematics (two of algebra, one of geometry, and one of calculus) and also recommended: computer science, biology, and a foreign language for those who may want to study abroad. Students seeking admission must have the equivalent of an American high school education at the time of admission. International students whose first language is not English must have taken the TOEFL/IELTS exam. A minimum TOEFL score of 600 on the paper-based test or 100 on internet-based test and the recommended minimum IELTS score of 7 is needed to be considered for admission. They will waive the TOEFL and/or IELTS requirement for students who have achieved a score of 670 or higher on the critical reading section of the SAT reasoning test.
