Established in 1989, the Program in Cognitive Science at Indiana University brings together faculty from many departments to study cognition and information. At present, 65 core faculty members and 38 associated faculty participate in the program. Representation is strong from the departments of psychology, philosophy, computer science, and linguistics. Other participating departments include biology, anthropology, education, library and information science, optometry, speech and hearing, and mathematics. Cognitive Science at Indiana University offers many special strengths. The program is highly integrated, encouraging interdisciplinary cooperation between all the participating disciplines. Along with the participating departments, there are also a large number of special groups, labs and research centers affiliated with the Program. The Cognitive Science Program also sponsors a number of open forums to bring researchers together. During the academic year talks are given by researchers from around the world in our biweekly colloquium series. Less formal groups include the weekly cognitive lunch. The Program also sponsors national and international conferences. See our events schedule for more information. The Cognitive Science Program offers an undergraduate major and a graduate program. Our undergraduate degree stresses skill acquisition, as opposed to a grab-bag of survey courses, and aims to foster the abilities that make students into scientists.

आवास सम्बन्धी विस्तृत जानकारी
The University has 11 residence halls on campus, clustered into three neighborhoods, each with a distinct blend of programs, dining options, amenities, services, and resources. The neighborhoods are like small communities on campus, offering everything students need very close to home. The three residence hall neighborhoods are called Northwest, Central, and Southeast. The individual residence halls are at the center of every neighborhood. The halls range from the 14-story, newly renovated Eigenmann to the smaller clusters of low-rise buildings found in neighborhoods such as Collins and Foster. The room will become more than just a place to sleep. It's where students will study, hang out with friends, watch movies, talk on the phone, play games, have study sessions, and check your e-mail. Room sizes and layouts vary from hall to hall, and even from floor to floor. There are four general types: singles, doubles, triples, and suites. The majority of rooms are doubles. Each residence hall includes basic facilities like beds, desks, chairs, mirrors, rugs, and wardrobes or closets. High-speed Ethernet connections, telephone service with voicemail, and a cable TV hookup in every room. Resident assistants on every floor who know about campus resources, organize and coordinate activities, help maintain a safe and supportive floor community, and resolve any conflicts that may arise. Academic support services including academic advising, tutoring and study-skill workshops, classrooms, and libraries. Centrally located dining and laundry facilities, computer labs, study lounges, and bike racks. Hall- and floor-sponsored social, recreational, and cultural programs. Extensive dining service offers something for everyone including: food courts, all-they-care-to-eat dining rooms, convenience stores, cafes and coffee shops.
