This program prepares students with competencies and skills to challenge themselves in an elementary and secondary classroom environment. The curriculum covers courses in education, music methods, performance, analysis, a teaching internship and a senior recital in the major applied area.

Students must have earned a passing GED score. They should have all their official transcripts. They must have maintained a grade point average of “C” in core courses; they must have earned five passes on a national or a local examination; and must have attained a minimum score of 500 in TOEFL. Students who are 26 years or elder are exempt from college entrance examinations. They must have a score of 18 either in ACT or equivalent in SAT which should be sent directly to the Office of Admissions, Alabama A and M University.
