This program provides experiences that prepare students to become effective middle school teachers in grades five through nine. If you are interested in this age group and teaching, you may wish to consider middle school education as a career. New certification requirements have significantly increased employment opportunities for middle school educators in the United States. A student enrolled in the program receives certification in two subject areas, thus improving opportunities for employment.
