This program prepares students for more sophisticated upper division courses at the interface between science and policy by requiring them to take some prerequisite courses in natural sciences (biology, chemistry and physical geography) and some prerequisite courses in the social sciences (geography, economics and environmental policy).

Applicant must have completed high school or secondary school with a cumulative (overall) grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 3.0 (when converted to the U.S. 4.0 grading scale). They are not required to submit SAT or ACT scores; however, a low GPA can be offset by an SAT score of 1000 or ACT score of 21. Applicants may demonstrate English language proficiency by submitting the following test results: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores for Paper-based test (PBT) 525, Computer-based test (CBT) 197, or Internet-based test (IBT) with minimum sub scores of 16 for reading and listening, and 14 for speaking and writing or IELTS scores of 6.5 overall and minimum 6.0 in each band.
