पाठ्यक्रमबारे सारश
This program of study leads to a degree in Human Factors Engineering (or Engineering Psychology). This degree is intended for students who wish to be recognized as human factors professionals. Students typically enter this program after successful completion of the first year program common to all engineering students, though many declare HF as a major during their first year of studies at Tufts University. This program is not ABET accredited, since neither ABET or any other accreditation body certifies undergraduate programs in Human Factors or Engineering Psychology. A graduate of the program should be able to integrate fundamental engineering, psychology, statistics, and general science principles to solve problems in simple and complex socio-technical environments; develop successful professional careers in a variety of domains in industry or research settings; communicate both technical and non-technical principles to a wide range of audiences; demonstrate leadership in multi-disciplinary teams.

स्थानबारे जानकारी
This department combines a strong base in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and the humanities and social sciences with hands-on laboratory experience. Students can enter careers ranging from advanced engineering education, research, and practice to non-engineering disciplines such as medicine, law, business, education, or government. It offers students opportunities to master the principles and methods required to solve current mechanical engineering problems and to communicate these solutions to the technical and nontechnical community. In addition to strengths in applied mechanics, materials processing, system design, and thermal-fluid sciences, the department specializes in the emerging area of thermal manufacturing, which bridges the gap between thermal-fluid sciences and materials engineering and processing. The department maintains state-of-the-art laboratories including the Thermal Analysis of Materials Processing Laboratory (TAMPL) and the Tufts University Fluid Turbulence Lab (TUFTL).

Each room is equipped with one telephone jack, one cable television jack, and an Ethernet port for each resident. Entering students and sophomores are required to live on campus unless commuting from home. Full-time graduate students in the first year of their programs in the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Nutrition, or College of Special Studies may apply for on-campus graduate student housing. The Tufts University Residential Life Office assigns Fairmont, McCollester, and Tousey Houses as graduate student residences. These houses are located in the "uphill" section of the Medford campus, off of Winthrop Street. Collectively, these three houses offer 39 single occupancy rooms. The rooms come in three sizes and are priced accordingly. No two rooms are exactly the same size. Each residence has a common room or lounge and shared bathrooms. One small kitchen is available in each residence and is shared with all of the occupants of each house. One kitchen must be shared amongst 10 to 16 residents, with limited storage space. Residents are advised, but not required, to purchase one of the many meal plan options offered by Tufts Dining Services (call 617-627-3566). For more information mail to: reslife@tufts.edu.
