This program is for those who are interested in applying computing and telecommunication tools to a specific domain. The program have been carefully structured to meet the following goals: breadth and depth of information technology; tools and applications of information technology; software and hardware infrastructure of information technology; and management and synthesis of information technology. All Information Technology majors are required to prepare a Program of Study Form, an approved copy of which must be on file with the IT Academic Advisor. The form should be prepared as early as possible in the student's career, and changes can be made in consultation with the advisor. The IT concentration in Infrastructure Systems is designed for students who wish to pursue careers involving the design of structures in the built environment and to understand the use of computer applications as they are used to enhance knowledge of the fundamentals of structural systems. Majors in this concentration will gain experience with the computer applications central to urban planners and civil engineers.

Students should have a high school academic record. The average composite SAT score for enrolling freshmen is 1140. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is required of all applicants whose first language is not English. The minimum score required is 79 for the Internet-based TOEFL exam, 213 for the computer-based TOEFL exam, or 550 for the paper TOEFL exam or 6.0 for the IELTS exam.
