This program aims to prepare students for careers in the news and entertainment fields, ranging from network and cable television to online magazines and other Internet formats. The curriculum gives students the opportunity to develop analytical and communications skills and a hands-on understanding of media technology. The cornerstone of this distinctive program is a strong emphasis on civic and social responsibility as well as ethics. Internships provide real-world experience in broadcast and/or corporate environments and opportunities to expand the students’ base of expertise. Graduates with a degree in Media Communication have many career options such as broadcast journalism (news, sports, and weather), television and video production, technical writing, scriptwriting, entertainment industry, media marketing, magazines, specialized journalism (automotive, business, science, or technology), television programming, research and analysis, public relations, online journalism and instructional technology. The concentration encompasses not only essential technical training but also one-on-one mentoring. The highly specialized curriculum continually evolves to reflect the ever-changing demands of the broadcast industry. This concentration aims to prepare students to enter their field with a superior theoretical, technical, creative, and ethical foundation that distinguishes them from other media specialists; think critically with an impressive background in communication and writing that will serve them not only in their careers, but in their lives; become leading-edge producers, writers, reporters, editors, technicians, or related communication professionals who can work independently or in teams; and develop their creative and technical ability in a resume tape that represents the best of their original productions.

अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय विद्यार्थीहरू प्रवेशको लागि आवश्यकता

Students must have completed high school diploma or GED equivalent. The high school course work includes algebra one and two; one semester of trigonometry, pre-calculus or senior math; two semesters of chemistry and physics. They should have a recomputed overall GPA of 2.0 or better in individual academic subjects. They must possess American College Test (ACT) or Standard Achievement Test (SAT) scores. International students must have obtained a minimum TOEFL score of 550 on the paper-based test, or 79 on the internet-based test or a score of 6.0 on IELTS (International English Language Testing System). If a student does not want to take the TOEFL or did not pass the TOEFL, they have an option to complete ESL courses at LTU.
