The curriculum encompasses graduate courses in one of the areas of specialization, the core and foundation courses, and specified courses that address topics such as pathophysiology, cultural diversity, nursing informatics, and public health nursing. The program consists of 67 to 86 semester hours, depending on specialization. This includes course work and clinical practice.

Applicants must have a current RN license in Massachusetts (or apply for interstate endorsement), an NLNAC-approved associate degree or diploma, at least one year of recent clinical practice, a statistics course that includes hypothesis testing and probability theory, an on-campus interview with the BSN/MS and specialization coordinators, a completed application that includes a goal statement, three letters of recommendation, and official educational transcripts indicating a minimum grade-point average of at least 3.000 (B) and a current resume.

The Department of Residence Life strives to create a community for the residents by planning programs and activities that help students get to know others on their floor and in their residence hall. It also provides services that support the residents in accomplishing their academic and personal goals. Residence Life staff are trained in counseling, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution, as well as interpersonal communications in order to assist the students to achieve their aspirations. Each hall is supervised by a residence director and resident assistants, individuals who maintain close contact with students and who serve as administrators for the buildings. It offers a variety of housing options tied to specific programs of study. These living learning communities offer students a supportive, achievement-oriented environment with opportunities for friendship around common interests as well as continued learning and sharing outside the classroom. Living Learning Communities commonly feature tutoring, advising, and study groups as well as unique programs designed to promote student growth and advancement.
