This concentration prepares students for graduate studies in Behavioral Neuroscience and can be easily modified to incorporate premedical requirements as well. Behavioral neuroscience is the study of the biological basis of behavior. It focuses on the neural, hormonal, and physiological control of behavior, including motivation, emotion, learning, memory, and perception. In addition to fulfilling the requirements for the B.S. in Psychology, students concentrating in Behavioral Neuroscience at Wright State take extra coursework within the College of Science and Mathematics and focus their electives within the Psychology Department to those with primary relevance to the field of neuroscience. All students within the concentration are encouraged to participate in research supervised by one of the BNS faculty, either in their laboratories or as independent research and studies.

Students must have earned a certificate of completion of secondary education that would enable the student to be admitted to a university in his or her home country, have studied mathematics and science subjects at the secondary level, a minimum score of 173(CBT) or 61/120 (IBT) in TOEFL (College of Engineering and Computer Science requires 197(CBT) or 71/120(IBT)), a minimum score of band 5 in IELTS, 1140 or higher in SAT or 25 or higher in ACT for coming directly out of secondary school with GPA is 3.25 or higher and must ranked among the top 10% of their graduating class. To be accepted as a major in the Department of Psychology, a student must meet the following requirements: 2.25 or better cumulative grade point average (GPA); 2.25 or better GPA in Psychology courses; 30 credit hours with at least two psychology courses.

This university provides campus housing to students through residential halls and apartments. All students are eligible to be accommodated in Hamilton Hall; it has double and triple occupancy rooms. Students who are in the University Honors Program are eligible to be accommodated in Honors Community, it has double occupancy rooms.
