This program is a unique and exciting program in policy, nonprofit and government. The program offers a set of five core courses that focus on New York City as a laboratory, qualitative and quantitative methods, economic analysis and public communication. These courses prepare the student to participate in analysis and decision-making in the public, nonprofit or private sectors. Skills such as analyzing data, organizing people, developing and evaluating plans, speaking in public to groups and negotiating and budgeting are learned in this major. The BSPA gives students a sound foundation to continue their studies in a Masters program after several years of experience in a public or nonprofit organization.

Students should possess a high school education or equivalent. Students must demonstrate their English proficiency, they should submit scores from either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic format/level test. TOEFL score of 105 out of 120 or an IELTS score of 7 is required. There is no minimum SAT/ACT score or GPA. For reference, the average SAT score is a 1220 (Math & Verbal), the average ACT score is a 26 and the average GPA is an 87%.
