This program is a health care professional skilled in the art and science of medical radiation treatment delivery. The therapist prepares and treats already diagnosed cancer patients with high energy radiation using highly specialized equipment called linear accelerators. Therapists are concerned with the design and administration of radiation therapy treatment, in addition to issues of the daily well-being for patients with cancer. This profession combines the great satisfaction of helping people during a difficult time in their life with high technology equipment and sophisticated scientific techniques.

Students must be graduates of an accredited high school or have an acceptable score on the General Education Development Test (GED). Students are encouraged to take four or more academic courses each semester of high school. The following high school curriculum is recommended for admission: 4 years of English, 2 years of Social Sciences, 3 years of mathematics, 2 years of foreign languages, 2 years of natural sciences, 3 years of academic electives. High school natural sciences courses in biology and chemistry are required for admission to programs within the Doisy College of Health Sciences. The minimum score of Paper-based TOEFL (PBT) is 550, Internet-based TOEFL (iBT) is 80, and Computer-based TOEFL (CBT) is 213. The IELTS score should be 6.0. TOEFL or IELTS scores are required.
