This program provides students with the knowledge and experience to manage rangeland resources for the highest continuing yield of products consistent with the conservation of the natural renewable resources. Students are introduced to a broad array of plant, soil, and animal sciences. It is designed to provide adequate training in range plants and ecology, range improvement and management, rangeland monitoring techniques, and watershed management. Basic knowledge of other sciences such as biology, botany, chemistry, mathematics, and zoology is required. Courses in related fields of animal science, entomology, forestry, geology, GIS, natural resource management, soils, and wildlife management are included.

Students should have 4 units of English, 3 units of mathematics (at the level of algebra I and above), 3 units of laboratory science, 3 units of social science from high school College Preparatory and high school grade point average of 2.5 (4.0 scale) with strong consideration given to grades earned in college preparatory courses. An ACT composite score of 21 or higher or SAT score of 970 or higher is recommended.
