This program prepares students for entry-level positions in business, nonprofit organizations, governmental agencies, and private consulting. This work includes economic analysis, research, and empirical analysis. Students choosing an economics major are advised that a position as a professional economist usually requires a graduate degree in economics. Students planning to enter a graduate program in economics are strongly recommended to include advanced courses in mathematics, statistics, and econometrics in their undergraduate programs.

Students should possess a high school education or equivalent. Students must demonstrate their English proficiency, they should submit scores from either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic format/level test. TOEFL score of 105 out of 120 or an IELTS score of 7 is required. There is no minimum SAT/ACT score or GPA. For reference, the average SAT score is a 1220 (Math & Verbal), the average ACT score is a 26 and the average GPA is an 87%.
