This program is to produce educated and creative filmmakers, helping them become responsible members of the entertainment profession. The purpose of the film program is to furnish the conceptual framework, the professional training, and the working environment for eventual participation in a profession that is a powerful influence in our culture. The major courses include producing, directing, screen writing, editing, cinematography, sound, film history and aesthetics.

Students must have an an acceptable grade point average GPA of above 3.0. Applicants are not permitted to submit portfolio items such as VHS tapes, DVDs, writing samples, photos, etc. They should possess the minimum critical reading score of 500 on the SAT, or 21 on the ACT English and 22 on the ACT reading, and a minimum math score of 500 on the SAT or 21 on the ACT and have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA in 6 semesters hours of approved college-level English and mathematics. Applicants whose native language is not in English and who have not studied in an English-speaking country for at least one academic year must have the minimum score of 550 on the paper-based test, 213 on the computer-based test, or 80 on the internet-based test is required for admission.
