This program requires to maintain a minimum 2.00 grade point average. The student must obtain a grade of C- or better in all required chemistry courses. If a grade of less than C- is obtained in a required chemistry course, the student must successfully repeat the course within a year.

International students are not required to take the SAT or the ACT for standard admission. However, these tests may be required for direct admission and scholarship consideration. Undergraduate students must achieve a minimum TOEFL score of 173 (61 Internet-based test), a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or a minimum MELAB score of 69. TOEFL, IELTS and MELAB scores are valid for two (2) years from test date. The University of Akron accepts only valid test scores.
