John F Welch College of Business is such an exciting learning community. It emphasizes cutting-edge business education. The College regularly invites recognized business experts to speak with students and supplement what they are learning in the classroom. In the last year, CEOs from international powerhouses such as GE, GE Capital, Jet Blue, ESPN and Perrier have been on campus to meet and talk with College of Business students. The College of Business is a vibrant, dynamic place to study. Business students learn business strategies, practices, procedures and theories that model today's worldwide marketplace. Technology improves the ability to teach through a wireless network and the state-of-the-art video conferencing that links to the European campus. What's more, the University is a member of the IBM Thinkpad University Consortium through the undergraduate laptop program. As a Catholic liberal arts University, Sacred Heart focuses on the development of the whole person. The students develop critical thinking skills and analytical ability, as well as oral and written communication skills. This University offers on-campus housing with various residence halls. It consists of five residence halls namely Elizabeth Ann Seton Hall, which is the largest hall on campus and houses 435 first year students in double and triple rooms. Each room is equipped with a micro-fridge unit. Each floor is equipped with kitchen and laundry facilities, as well as an open and dynamic environment that encourages first year students to meet each other, teach each other, and forge friendships that will last the next four years and beyond. Thomas Merton Hall houses 340 first year students in double and triple rooms equipped with micro-fridge units. The features include a common lounge on the first floor where students can study or relax and meet new people. A full kitchen is also provided on floors two through six, each with a microwave, stove, dishwasher and full-size refrigerator. Angelo Roncalli Hallis is located on Park Avenue and is home to 390 freshmen and sophomore residents. It offers suite-style living, with each suite offering a kitchenette, study lounge and comfortable living space that enables students to find a balance between privacy and interaction, studying and socializing, independence and being part of a community. Christian Witness Commons houses almost exclusively sophomores and consists of three buildings: Jean Donovan Hall, Oscar Romero Hall and Dorothy Day Hall. Suite-style living, with each suite offering a kitchenette, study lounge, and comfortable living space that gives sophomore students greater independence by keeping them connected to the campus. Scholars Commons consists of four buildings: Augustine Hall, Thomas Aquinas Hall, Theresa of Avila Hall and John Henry Newman Hall. Each building consists of ten apartments, housing 300 sophomore and junior students in total. Each apartment features three bedrooms, a kitchen, bathroom and dining area. Laundry facilities, vending machines and a refuse room are located in each building.
