This program allows students to complete 900 hours of supervised experience along with regular coursework during their junior and senior years. The mission of the Coordinated Program in Dietetics is to prepare graduates for entry-level practice in the field of nutrition and dietetics with attitudes, understandings and skills that will allow them to analyze critically and meet the needs of individuals and/or society. The program provides graduates with the knowledge and tools to develop the skills necessary to become leaders in the field and to translate and apply the science of food and nutrition to health.

International students are not required to take the SAT or the ACT for standard admission. However, these tests may be required for direct admission and scholarship consideration. Undergraduate students must achieve a minimum TOEFL score of 173 (61 Internet-based test), a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or a minimum MELAB score of 69. TOEFL, IELTS and MELAB scores are valid for two (2) years from test date. The University of Akron accepts only valid test scores.
