International students are not required to take the SAT or the ACT for standard admission. However, these tests may be required for direct admission and scholarship consideration. Undergraduate students must achieve a minimum TOEFL score of 173 (61 Internet-based test), a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or a minimum MELAB score of 69. TOEFL, IELTS and MELAB scores are valid for two (2) years from test date. The University of Akron accepts only valid test scores. The course requires a valid Ohio state license as a registered nurse. A minimum Grade Point Average of 2.75 in prerequisite courses (All prerequisites must be completed by the end of spring semester) is required and a “C” or above must be maintained in all prerequisite courses. § Courses taken at other colleges may be used to satisfy prerequisite requirements. Grades of equivalent transfer courses are combined with those earned at The University of Akron in the computation of the admission GPA
