This program will have an experience that focuses on: Knowledge Base of Psychology: Students will demonstrate familiarity with the major concepts, theoretical perspectives, empirical findings and historical trends in psychology. Research Methods in Psychology: Students will understand and apply basic research methods in psychology, including research design, data analysis, and interpretation. Critical Thinking Skills in Psychology: Students will respect and use critical and creative thinking, skeptical inquiry, and, when possible, the scientific approach to solve problems related to behavior and mental processes. Application of Psychology: Students will understand and apply psychological principles to personal, social, and organizational issues. Values in Psychology: Students will value empirical evidence, tolerate ambiguity, act ethically, and reflect other values that are the underpinnings of psychology as a science.

Students should have high school graduates that have earned less than 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) of transferable college credit coursework (not including joint enrollment and advanced placement credits). They should have strong SAT or ACT score results and provide a well developed personal essay. The middle 50% of admitted students had SAT total scores ranging from 1070 to 1210 (CR + M sub scores only), and high school grade point averages ranging from 3.13 to 3.71 (calculated on academic courses only).
