This track prepares students to develop and teach art-education programs in community-based, nonschool settings, including art museums, art centers, and community cultural centers, with students of mixed ages and backgrounds. It provides a broad base of skills in cultural history and program development; it does not lead to certification to teach in public schools. Students may apply for admission to the museum and community art education track after completing 30 semester hours of college-level course work, including a minimum of 12 semester hours in art courses with no grade lower than a C, an overall minimum 2.50 GPA, and minimum computer competency in word-processing and page layout demonstrated through a special portfolio.

The courses are: ART 100 - Drawing Foundation I, ART 101 - Drawing Foundation II, ART 102 - 2-D Foundation, ART 103 - 3-D Foundation, ART 457 - Museum Education, ART 465 - Introduction to Museum Studies, ARTE 342 - Introduction to Art Education: Content and Clinical Experience at the Elementary Level, ARTE 344 - Resources and Methods in Art Education: Content and Clinical Experience at the Middle Level, ARTE 463 - Modern and Postmodern Art in Education, ARTE 480 - Alternative Teaching Experiences, ARTE 482 - Clinical Experiences.

Students should possess High School Diploma and should have GPA score of at least 2.50 on a 4.00 (USA) scale or be in the upper-half of their graduating class. Applicants who have a GPA of 2.75 on a 4.00 scale or are in the upper-half of the class must have ACT composite score of at least 19 and SAT score of 870-900. Applicants who have 2.50 on a 4.00 scale or are in the upper two-thirds of the class must have ACT composite score of at least 23 and SAT score of 1030-1050. Students should have TOEFL scores which includes 527 on a paper based test, 197 on computer-based test or 71 on an internet based test. IELTS Score includes 6.0. Students need not submit TOEFLE/IELTS score, if they can prove English is recognized as their countries' native language and if they have attended a US High School for more than 1 year.
